The Huaxia Construction Science and Technology Award was established in 2002 and is an industry science and technology award established by the construction system in the form of social force awards.
The 2022 Huaxia Construction Science and Technology Award for the Key Technology of High Quality Resource Utilization of Titanium Gypsum was recently announced.
This is the first time that Zhenjiang’s scientific research achievements have won the “Huaxia Award” since being awarded the “Huaxia Award” in 2021.
The green building materials produced from solid waste have a smooth surface and pure white color due to their final product, high-quality white gypsum for construction.
In recent years, the research work of Zhenjiang Housing and Construction System has made great strides, winning 2 Huaxia Construction Science and Technology Awards, 3 Jiangsu Construction System Innovation Achievement Awards, and 33 provincial and municipal level project approvals.
On the basis of research and risk assessment, Zhenjiang Jianke Group led the collaboration with four other units to study various methods of titanium gypsum pretreatment and resource utilization, providing economic and feasible green common technologies for titanium gypsum resource utilization, opening up the resource utilization industry chain, improving the utilization rate of gypsum by-products, and having significant economic, social, and environmental benefits.
This achievement has obtained 4 authorized invention patents and 2 utility model patents, published 6 papers, including 4 included in SCI, and won the second prize of Jiangsu Province Construction System Innovation Achievement Award.
Therefore, this scientific research achievement has the reputation of “red mud is not a ruthless thing, but turns into white jade to build thousands of homes”.
Titanium gypsum is often disposed of through landfilling, which not only poses a serious threat to human health and the ecological environment, but also incurs huge landfill costs.
It is reported that titanium gypsum, a by-product produced in the production of titanium dioxide, is also called “red gypsum” because of its high iron content.
The scientific and technological achievement of Jiangsu Zhenjiang Architectural Science Research Institute Group Co., Ltd., the Key Technology of High Quality Resource Utilization of Titanium Gypsum, won the third prize of the Huaxia Award.
It is also the most valuable social science and technology award in China’s construction industry.
