According to the structure and appearance of the bridge, there are four basic types: beam bridge, floating bridge, cable bridge and arch bridge

(1) Beam bridge

Anji bridge, also known as Zhaozhou Bridge, is a well-known ancient bridge in China

.

It spans the river in the south of Zhaoxian County, Hebei Province

.

It was built in the kaihuang period of Sui Dynasty and designed and built by Li Chun, a famous craftsman

.

The total length is 50.82 meters, the width is 9.6 meters, and the span is 37.37 meters

.

The spandrel of the bridge is open, and two small arches are built at both ends of the spandrel, namely the open spandrel arch

.

It is the first bridge engineering in the world and the largest existing open shoulder bridge in the world

.

02 Suzhou Baodai bridge is located in Suzhou city

.

It was built in the Tang Dynasty

.

It is a multi arch stone bridge with the largest number of holes in China

.

It is 318 meters long and 4.1 meters wide, with a total of 53 holes

.

The bridge is along the Yunhe river bank and across the dantai river
