Integration of Exhibition and Architecture – In past World Expos, exhibition halls were typically designed as independent white cubes, with little integration between exhibition and architectural design.
However, the project seeks seamless integration of exhibition planning and architectural design, with both developing in parallel.
In order to supplement the exhibition content, the exhibition hall has created various “exhibition environments”: including a bright open atrium that allows natural light to pass through the membrane roof, a soft lighting space with skylights that highlight the texture of the CLT surface, a low ceiling dark room that encourages visitors to focus on the exhibition, and an iconic outdoor space centered on water features.
The exhibition hall provides a diverse exhibition environment, including indoor and outdoor, light and shadow, and space size, inviting visitors to experience the exhibition narrative through five senses.
