Against the backdrop of the integrated development of the ancient town and new city in Songjiang District, Shanghai, the cultural relics and buildings of the ancient town are increasingly serving as a link between local history and cultural memory.

The Majia Hall in Sijing Ancient Town is one of its representatives.

The Majia Hall was built in the early Qing Dynasty, with the house facing north and south.

The original owner, Ma Jiucheng (alias “Sibin”), also known as Sibin Thatched Cottage, was declared a cultural relic protection unit in Songjiang County in 1985.

The existing front and residential buildings, as well as the first and second buildings along the street, have a width of 10.
