New Work | Butterfly Pavilion, Community Space at the Top of the Slope/Yingzao (Shanghai) Architectural Design Firm


The project is located in an old community near Shanghai South Station in Xuhui District, Shanghai.

The community is a typical example of “old dilapidated small” in Shanghai.

Compared with the connection between ordinary old communities and surrounding public spaces, this community is separated by railways, rivers, and urban roads, and cannot expand public spaces outward.

It can only be shaped internally.

The site where this project is located is also the only open space that can be renovated internally.
