BIG Building Surface Design: Interweaving Techniques

BIG Architecture has announced its first completed building in Los Angeles – the Robert Day Science Center at Claremont McKenna College.

This 135000 square foot building is designed to be a dynamic carrier for promoting interdisciplinary integration.

The building itself serves to guide the flow of people and ideas, connecting laboratories, classrooms, and other areas of the campus.

The building adopts an interlaced and stacked volume form, which is highly visually impactful.

It not only creates a new eastern gateway for the college, but also quickly establishes a distinctive architectural identity in the fields of science and innovation.
