I have always stubbornly understood ‘past’ as something that has happened for a long time, but since graduating with a bachelor’s degree in architecture in 2012 and starting my career, the feeling that architectural design has brought me is truly like a distant past – there are nostalgia and comfort, but more regret and melancholy, which ultimately turn into relief and calmness.

Of course, the term ‘past’ is more of an imitation of Liu Cixin’s classic work ‘The Past of the Earth’, which is also a work I really like.
